AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The threat of wintry weather Wednesday evening into Thursday morning is prompting local elections officials to pull back hours at polling locations, as early voting comes down to its final two days ahead of the March 1 primary election.
Travis County officials closed their early voting sites at 6 p.m. Wednesday, while Williamson County officials closed polling locations at 5 p.m.
Officials in both counties, along with Hays County, are planning to re-open their early voting sites at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, though that schedule is subject to change depending on the weather.
As of Wednesday night, about 6.43% of Williamson County's more than 400,000 registered voters had cast their ballots, while Travis County officials reported 5.44% of the county's 859,400 registered voters had cast their ballots.
Early voting comes to an end on Friday; election day is next Tuesday, March 1.
