A massive industrial fire in Garland is still burning but fire crews say it's under control.

Garland Fire Department officials say the fire broke out early Monday morning at the Sherwin-Williams paint plant near Shiloh and Miller.

Garland Fire Department's James Duggar tells 1080 KRLD this all broke out just before 1:30 a.m. Monday. Fire crews found a hot, fast-moving fire and commanders quickly added a second alarm to bring in more manpower.

Duggar says there are no warnings about air quality but it's a good idea to avoid the area anyway because several streets around the plant are closed including a stretch of northbound Shiloh.

Early on great yellow fireballs were seen jetting into the night sky along with billows of black smoke. But most of that has died down and firefighters are staying on scene to watch out hot spots.

Officials say one plant worker was hurt enough to be checked out by paramedics but did not need to go to the hospital.

The area of the fire will have to cool down quite a bit before anyone can go inside to look for a cause.
