We are entering another tax-free weekend in Texas. This time it is for emergency supplies.
Kevin Lyons with the Texas Comptroller's Office says they have a breakdown of the three main price ranges that qualify including portable generators less than $3,000.
Shoppers need to consider the total cost.
"Let's say you order a generator and it's $2,900, but the delivery free is $100, so now you're paying $3,000," Lyons suggested. "Then you don't get the tax-exempt status of the items."
Ladders and hurricane shutters less than $300 are in a separate category.
Next are household items less than $75.
