Frisco police are trying to clear up what they view as a misunderstanding stemming from a widely-viewed video making the rounds on social media.

The video shows a confrontation between two drivers at a shopping center. It starts when a woman driving a car with New York license plates backs into a car going past her parking space.

*Caution: Video contains vulgar language, violence (NSFW).

The man driving the other car leaves his car blocking the woman's car as he gets out to inspect the damage. She angrily confronts him, gets back in her car and proceeds to back into his car again.

The man can be heard screaming "you broke my car."

She backs into him again and once more while he is standing behind her car and being struck as she backs up.

Finally, she has pushed his car out of the way far enough for her to speed off.

A police press release says "we understand that seeing this is upsetting and of great concern to the community. Clearing up misinformation is a part of our department’s commitment to transparency, so here are the facts."

The press release goes on to say they have spoken to both drivers who "ultimately agreed to exchange insurance information without criminal charges being filed."

Comments on the Frisco PD twitter feed express indignation that the woman is not being charged with a criminal offense.
