Chief Neil Noakes has fired Sgt. Rodsdricke Martin after determining that he violated many department policies when he allegedly destroyed physical evidence while off duty.
Back in January, police got a complaint of Sergeant Rodsdricke deleting photos from a laptop computer and resetting it to factory settings to wipe the hard drive of its contents.
Martin was placed on restricted duty and later suspended without pay; and in late March, Martin was indicted by a grand jury for tampering with physical evidence.
Chief Noakes ultimately determined that Martin violated many department policies and terminated his employment.
"The FWPD will continue to hold employees accountable who do not meet the standards expected of a Fort Worth police officer and in doing so, will continue to be transparent and open with our community," the department wrote in a statement announcing Martin's firing.
