Accused serial killer Billy Chermirmir's retrial will begin Monday with a jury of twelve plus two alternates.

Jury selection was completed last night and opening statements are scheduled to begin on Monday.

Five months ago, Chermirmir's first capital murder prosecution ended in a mistrial when the jury could not agree on a verdict, as one juror remained a hold out.

Chermirmir is a former home health care worker who is suspected in as many as 18 murders in North Texas, all of them of elderly women.

The victim in this first trial is an 81-year-old woman named Lu Thi Harris who died four years ago.
