The busiest runway at Dallas Love Field is going to be closed for ten months for a complete rebuild, according to reports.

The main Love Field runway that runs parallel to Denton Avenue on the west side of the airport was built in 1990 with concrete expected to last about 20 years.

But Love Field has grown increasingly busy in the past two decades and the city feels that runway simply cannot wait any longer.

Until the work is completed, Love Field will have to get by with with just the one runway that runs parallel to Lemmon Avenue.

Aviation experts expect incoming flights will see more delays than outgoing because during peak times aircraft may have to circle awhile before a landing slot opens up.
