The duty of a police officer to serve and protect goes beyond humans, as a police officer in Richardson recently went viral when helping a family of ducklings. In the video, the officer helps the ducks cross the street; making sure they make it to the other side safely.

Over the weekend, the Richardson Police Department shared a video of one of their officers trailing behind a family of ducklings crossing the street, ensuring no cars harm the group. “Everyone needs a little help sometimes,” the police department captioned the now viral video. After crossing the street, the police officer wasn’t done, waiting for animal control to come take the ducks to a safer area away from the road.
