The Texas Rangers have been asked to investigate Sunday's death of an Azle man during a confrontation with police.
Reports say it began Sunday morning when police were called because of a man holding a knife and making threats at an address near Boyd Road and Commerce Street.
Police say the man identified as George Gordon moved toward police with the knife and refused to stop when ordered. They used what police call less-than-lethal means to stop him, although the exact equipment that was used is not specified.
Gordon was rushed to Texas Health Harris Methodist hospital in Azle but did not survive.
