One Fort Worth firefighter has a minor injury from yesterday's wind-whipped apartment fire in northeast Fort Worth near Highway 360 and Trinity Boulevard.
Firefighters arrived in front of the three-story building and were helping residents evacuate when they realized the fire was in the walls, and it was much worse thant it looked at first.
Pretty soon, commanders ordered all firefighters out of the building because it was growing increasingly unstable. They also added a second alarm and then, quickly, a third.
It took over three hours to get the fire under control and it was made worse by the winds that were whipping up to 40 miles-an-hour at times.
