Survey: Americans eager to shop, dine without worry

Ongoing research led by a Dallas firm finds growing evidence U.S. consumers are ready to release their pent-up desires to get out and enjoy life in public again.

The latest survey data collected in mid-February by Lisa W. Miller & Associates and Prodege, LLC, indicates more Americans are ready to go on a buying binge.  The following activities topped the list of activities consumers said they will resume immediately after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine:

37% Shopping in-store retailers

31% Dining in at a restaurant

30% Attending an in-person gathering with friends/family

29% Attending church services in person

Miller told KRLD the survey results are updated monthly, and that the percentages have grown as the vaccine rollout has continued.  She discussed the research with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
