Astros set 2023 Opening Day roster

Jose Altuve, Michael Brantley start season on 10-day IL; Lance McCullers Jr. on 15-day IL

(SportsRadio 610) - The Astros finalized their roster Thursday morning by officially selecting outfielder Corey Julks and catcher César Salazar to the major league roster.

Meanwhile, second baseman Jose Altuve (right thumb fracture) and outfielder Michael Brantley (right shoulder surgery) are on the 10-day injured list. Lance McCullers Jr. (right elbow strain) LHP Parker Mushinski (lumbar spine muscle spasm) and LHP Blake Taylor (left elbow strain) are on the 15-day IL. To make room for Julks and Salazar on the 40-man roster, the Astros designated OF Bligh Madris and IF J.J. Matijevic for assignment.
