After shutting down production due to the coronavirus pandemic, “Jeopardy!” is getting ready to return to your television screens.
The long-running game show has implemented some changes which fans will be able to see when the 37th season premieres on September 14th.
New safety protocols will ensure contestants are kept a safe distance from host Alex Trebek, who is currently battling stage IV pancreatic cancer.
In addition, Ken Jennings, the “Jeopardy!” champion who won a record-setting 74 straight shows and took last year's “The Greatest of All Time" tournament against James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter, is joining the series as a consulting producer.

“Though I’ve played my last round of JEOPARDY! as a contestant, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to remain involved with my favorite show,” Jennings said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “I’m still in on all the action, but I don’t have to worry about phrasing things in the form of a question anymore.”
The show started production last month with Trebek back at the helm, but without a studio audience.
"On a personal level, I’m excited because it gets me out of the house," Trebek said in an announcement for the new season, reported USA Today. "It gives me something to do on a regular basis, and I was missing that.”

"I’m doing well," the 80-year-old said in a YouTube video. "I’ve been continuing my treatment and it is paying off. Though it does fatigue me a great deal, my numbers are good. I’m feeling great."
