Netflix gears up for the holiday season with 3 festive films

Netflix is getting ready for holidays with some festive original movies.

The streaming giant released several sneak peeks from its upcoming Christmas movie roster.


One of the most buzzed about offerings is "The Holidate" starring "Scream Queens" actress Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey.

Netflix is giving Hallmark, which is debuting a total of 40 new holiday films this year, a run for its money with a holiday musical movie titled "Dolly Parton's Christmas On the Square."

The film also stars "Everwood" actor Treat Williams and "Roswell, New Mexico" star Jeanine Mason.

The movie, which debuts Sunday, November 22, shares a title with a new song on Parton's upcoming Christmas album, "A Holly Dolly Christmas." It will be her first Christmas album in 30 years.

The streaming giant seems to have take a liking to musical movies with "Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey."

Written by playwright and director David E. Talbert, it tells the story of an eccentric inventor Jeronicus Jangle (Forest Whitaker) and his granddaughter Journey (Madalen Mills).

It will debut November 13.
