KANSAS CITY - Thousands of internet users in east Kansas City were recently knocked offline after thieves targeted fiber optic lines.
Kansas City Police say this has been a problem for months now with lines being targeted across the metro. Cables have been cut near Swope Park, Belvidere Park, and in the Lykins area.
Investigators believe the damage is being done overnight in forested, industrial areas.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to arrests in connection to the crimes. If you know anything, you are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
