KANSAS CITY – The people of Kansas have spoken. Well, those who took time to vote have been heard. A new personalized license plate design has been chosen in Kansas.
Five designs were put forward for the public to choose from this month. The Kansas Department of Revenue says more than 30,000 votes were cast, and the clear winner with 56% of the vote is the Flint Hills design, evoking the rolling hills, a colored Kansas sky and a sunrise (sunset?).
The process was not as controversial as what occurred last year with a new standard state license plate design.
“We are excited to reveal the next Kansas personalized plate design and will now work to get the design ready for production and for Kansans to purchase in 2025,” said KDOR Division of Vehicles Director David Harper.
When the new design is available, Kansans can visit their local county treasurer’s office to purchase the new plate for $45.50.
