KANSAS CITY – Weapons could soon be allowed on public transit after the Missouri House pushed a bill through to the Senate on Thursday.
Supporters of House Bill 328 say it would allow public transit passengers to protect themselves and safeguard Second Amendment rights.
Opposition to the bill argues it would not make passengers safer, but actually put them in more danger.
As it stands now, you are not allowed to bring guns with you on the bus, or train, even if you have a conceal and carry permit.
House BIll 328 would also lower the age to get a conceal and carry permit in Missouri to anyone who’s age 18 or older. Currently the age requirement is 19, unless you’re a member of the military, who can get the permit at age 18.
