Kirill Kaprizov Leads Hart Memorial Trophy Race

The Minnesota Wild star is dominating the MVP conversation with incredible performances and a standout season start.

Minnesota Wild left winger Kirill Kaprizov is off to an otherworldly start to the 2024-2025 campaign and currently holds +110 odds to win the Hart Memorial Trophy, awarded to the Most Valuable Player of the NHL every year.

Three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner and Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid (+300) trails him, as does last year’s winner Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche (+650) and former winner Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning (+700).

Through 33 games played, Kaprizov has scored 22 goals with 27 assists for 49 points while leading the Wild (20-10-4) to a solid start as a team. Those 22 goals rank 3rd in the NHL, 27 assists rank 15th and points rank T4th behind MacKinnon (57), and tied with both McDavid and Kucherov.

In 311 NHL games played, Kaprizov has now accumulated 182 goals and 197 assists for 379 points over five seasons, which is wildly impressive, but with the utter dominance of the other three names at the top of this leaderboard, it’s probably smartest to fade him and back one of the other guys at a current discount.
