If Sirianni is unable to coach the game on Sunday, passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo will take over as head coach, Siranni said. Patullo was chosen so that Shane Steichen can call plays and Jonathan Gannon can run the defense as he usually does. Steichen has been involved in play calling throughout the season.

Sirianni, who was noticeably sick during his virtual press conference, said he woke up Wednesday morning and felt sick.

The 7-7 Eagles are in a playoff race and face the Giants on Sunday, just five days after their win over Washington on Tuesday night.

All major professional sports leagues are dealing with rampant COVID-19 cases once again, as the Omicron variant continues to spread.
