Former NFL running back Zac Stacy has been arrested in Orlando, Florida on charges stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident in which he appeared to attack his ex-girlfriend.
Stacy, 30, was arrested without incident at Orlando International Airport on charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief, police said.
The former Rams and Jets running back was returning to Florida from Tennessee amid an outstanding warrant for his arrest, after he was seen assaulting the mother of his 5-month-old child inside her house in a disturbing video that was widely circulated on social media on Thursday.
Police confirmed officers had responded to a domestic violence incident at the woman's house on Nov. 13. The suspect, Stacy, had fled, eventually leading to the warrant for his arrest, according to FOX 35 Orlando.
After the apparent attack, the woman filed for a restraining order against Stacy, who last appeared in an NFL with the Jets in 2015. He was a fifth-round draft pick of the then-St. Louis Rams in 2013 after playing collegiately at Vanderbilt.
The woman did not suffer serious injuries in the brutal incident. Two children were present at the time of the attack, according to her affidavit.
