Change is needed for the New York Giants, but it won’t be coming in the form of a new head coach or quarterback.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Giants plan to bring back both Joe Judge and Daniel Jones for the 2022 season despite their shortcomings and the franchise’s fifth consecutive season with double-digit losses.
Per Schefter, the organization believes that both deserve the opportunity to return while many around the league believe the big change will come in the form of a new general manager, with Dave Gettleman possibly stepping down after the season.
Any GM they bring in would likely have to be on board with keeping Judge as head coach, although those conversation will occur later in the offseason, Schefter noted.
Judge entered Sunday with a 10-20 career record since being hired by the Giants before the 2020 season, but Giants ownership seems to still think highly of the head coach.

Meanwhile, Jones is out for the remainder of the season after missing the last three weeks with a neck injury.
The 24-year-old has shown flashes of potential at times, but has also struggled behind a shoddy offensive line and in an offense mostly run by Jason Garrett, who was fired as the offensive coordinator earlier this year.
The Giants have been linked as a potential trade suitor for Russell Wilson in recent weeks, but the team appears to still have faith in Jones.

Jones has cut down on his turnovers this season, tossing seven interceptions and losing three fumbles in 11 games after committing 39 turnovers in his first 26 career starts. He has also completed 64.3% of passes for. 2,463 yards and 10 TDs this year.
With Jones out, the Giants have turned to Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm, the latter of whom will start on Sunday vs. the Eagles.
