The Las Vegas Aces open the WNBA Semifinals Sunday at Michelob Ultra Arena against the Dallas Wings. Tipoff time is at 2pm.

The Aces and Wings each advanced by sweeping their opponents 2-games-to-none. The top four teams remain in the playoffs. It’s the Aces against the fourth seed Dallas. And the second seed New York plays the #3 seed Connecticut Sun. The Liberty and Sun series begins Sunday at 10am Pacific.
The semifinal series is the best of five.

The Aces won three of four this past season against Dallas. Kelsey Plum and Aja Wilson averaged 23 points per game against the Wings. But Dallas is bigger inside and had a 46-26 edge on the offensive glass and posed some matchup problems. The Wings had seven players average in double figures – led by Natasha Howard’s 18 points per game.

This week, Aja Wilson was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. She has won it the past two seasons. Wilson ranked first in the W in defensive efficiency this past season. And the Aces Alysha Clark was named the 2023 Sixth Player of the Year. Clark averaged 7 points and 3 rebounds a game. She shot 44-percent from the field this past season.

Game 2 in the series is Tuesday at the Michelob Ultra Arena at 7pm.
