The Las Vegas Raiders struggled on both sides of the football Sunday as they lost to the Bears in Chicago 30-12, in a game in which they lack intensity and execution.
The Raiders also ran into a hungry Bears team, which came into the game at 1-5. The Bears started Tyson Bagent, a former Division II QB, who filled in for the injured Justin Fields. Bagent tore up the Raiders defense, tossing three touchdown passes. D'onta Foreman caught one of those passes and ran for two others on the day. Bagent completed 21 of 29 passes for 162 yards. The Bears won at home for the first time in a year.
The Raiders started Brian Hoyer, who only threw for 129 yards and had two INTs. Devante Adams only caught seven short passes for 57 yards and Josh Jacobs rushed for just 35 yards in the loss.
The Raiders couldn't apply any pressure on Bagent defensively. Their offensive line kept the Raiders off-balance all afternoon. The Raiders also seemed to not care about tackling on defense.
Head Coach Josh McDaniels was also looking for answers following the game. "We didn't do anything well enough to deserve to win. Taking care of the ball, they did a lot better job than we did in that. Run the ball, control the line of scrimmage, play better on third down. You name it, that's what it was," he said.
The Raiders looked unprepared for the game or the team that quit in the game. They missed several tackles defensively as well. "I don't think it was that we weren't ready to play," McDaniels said. He felt his team was excited to play but didn't control the line of scrimmage.
