Late Tuesday night the Las Vegas Raiders announced the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler. "After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave. I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best," said owner Mark Davis.

The Raiders gave McDaniels a six-year contract in January 2022 and he has four years left that the Raiders are obligated to pay.

Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce is expected to be named the interim head coach.

The Raiders suffered back-to-back losses on the road to the Bears and on Monday night they were blown out on national TV in Detroit 26-14.

McDaniels became the first NFL Coach fired this season. His record with the Las Vegas Raiders was 9-16. The Raiders are preparing to host the New York Giants this Sunday.
