The Las Vegas Aces finally made to the White House to celebrate the 2022 WNBA Championship. The Aces captured the first title in team history last September.

Vice President Kamala Harris lauded the team for its contributions not only to the WNBA, but in women's sports and society, on and off the court. "In addition to being leaders on the court, these players are role models and leaders off the court. You each have a commitment to excellence that includes serving your community through the Las Vegas Aces Foundation. You support student mental health and wellness and you fight for equal pay, Harris said. She added: "You inspire our young people, and people across the nation, to dream with ambition. You are living the truth that women belong in every room and on every court."

Harris talked about the strong leadership of the Aces from owner Mark Davis to team president Nikki Fargas, to head coach Becky Hammon to key players including A'ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum.

The White House visit comes on the heels of a record-breaking week for the Aces. They recorded their 30th win of the season Thursday night in battling back from a huge deficit, and A'ja Wilson tied a team record by scoring 53 points in a game earlier this week in Atlanta. "Yes, that was 53 points in one game," said the Vice President. To which Becky Hammon responded out loud, "in 33 minutes!"

The Aces continue the road trip in Washington Saturday at 4pm. They play against the Liberty in New York on Monday before returning to Las Vegas for Thursday's home game against the Mystics.
