Las Vegas, NV (KXST) - Only a few days after seeing goalie Marc-Andre Fleury traded to the Chicago Blackhawks, the Vegas Golden Knights have traded away another fan favorite.

The team sent defenseman Ryan Reaves to the New York Rangers for a 3rd- round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. The move reunites Reaves with former Knights head coach Gerard Gallant, whom the Rangers hired in the offseason to lead their squad.

Reaves was acquired from Pittsburgh halfway through the Knights' inaugural season and quickly became one of the fan base's most popular players, not only for his brash personality on the ice, but his community involvement off it.

The Reaves deal comes three days after the team shipped goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to Chicago in a move to clear more space for the team's salary cap.
