Joe Buck was officially named the new voice of Monday Night Football on Wednesday -- the same day he flexed his golden pipes as a contestant on FOX's "The Masked Singer."
The longtime sports announcer was revealed as the voice inside a horned ram-like mask -- after he briefly appeared to have trouble getting out of the bizarre getup.
For his final number, Buck belted out Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me," in what media reporter Andrew Marchand of the New York Post surmised could be the Emmy Award-winning play-by-play man's last appearance with FOX after a 28-year run of calling mostly NFL and MLB games.
Despite Buck's unexpected appearance, it actually wasn't the first time the network called upon its in-house sports personalities to do some incognito crooning. Former Jets quarterback turned college football analyst Mark Sanchez also made an appearance in October 2020.
If it was in fact Buck's unofficial signoff from FOX, it was a heck of a way to go. While his pitch wasn't bad, that doesn't mean he should sing, as they say in showbiz.
