D.C. of course stands for the District of Columbia, and we know it’s not technically a state – but is Washington, D.C. a city?
BMitch and Finlay played some audio of Steve Apostolopoulos’ appearance on CNBC Monday morning, where he said that Washington “is a great city,” and Brian Mitchell revealed that he doesn’t consider our nation’s capital an actual city.
“He’s talking about what a great city Washington is,” JP said, to which BMitch interrupted: “Technically, it’s not a city!”
When JP pushed back, Brian asked: “It’s a city, in what state?”
“What do you think it is, then, if it’s not a city?” Finlay replied.
“It’s like a Federal District, but it’s not a city though,” BMitch said.
The crew had a major disagreement about this, with only Brian on the side of “not a city,” while JP, Jeff, and Landfill were aghast.
“You can disagree all the hell you want, but it ain’t a city,” he said. “What state is it in if it’s a city?”
JP then cited Wikipedia as saying Washington is “the capital city and Federal District of the United States,” to which BMitch poo-pooed Wikipedia as “having a bunch of wrong stuff about me, too!”
“Everybody in DC wants statehood – they don’t want city-hood!” Mitchell said. “DC feels like they’re a state, not a city!”
Landfill then asked Brian who Muriel Bowser is, trying to get him to say the Mayor of the City – and when JP tried to get Brian to name the DC City Council as such, BMitch countered with, “What do they call that in Louisiana?”
Not the kind of tangent you’d expect in a discussion about the Commanders sale, but apparently, it’s a District that has the structure of both a city and a county but wants to be a state?
“It is so damn confusing what these eight square miles are!” was all JP could say in summation.
Listen to the whole debate, starting at about eight minutes into the clip up!
