PFT Commenter joins BMitch & Finlay every Friday, and it just so happened that this week’s hit came shortly before his beloved Commanders reportedly hired Adam Peters as their new GM.
So, realistically, what we can look at from that segment is his thoughts on the departure of Bill Belichick from New England, and looking back at the Bill era…makes him appreciate Joe Gibbs even more?
“With Belichick, I think we can say he's the best coach of all-time. The last couple of seasons haven't been great up in New England, but you can't let that take away from what he was able to accomplish,” PFT Commenter said. “As an added bonus to this, for everything that Belichick did, and he had some teams that had outstanding defenses, he oversaw the best offense of all-time on the team that lost to the Super Bowl to Eli Manning. People talk about what Joe Gibbs was able to accomplish over his career, despite the fact that he never had a long-term quarterback –he did it with three different quarterbacks in three different Super Bowls, with three different running backs, which was maybe as big of a position, if not bigger, at the time. So, I like being reminded of that now and again, because I do feel like Joe Gibbs is the forgotten great coach in the NFL.”
There was A LOT of talk about cold weather, as PFT is in Chicago and getting ready for it to feel like the Arctic Circle this weekend, and you can listen to that and his Belichick segment above, or, seek out the podcast for the full second hour of Friday’s BMitch & Finlay show for some general Commanders thoughts!
