When debating whether or not the Commanders lowly defense will improve now that Jack Del Rio is gone, BMitch and Finlay agreed that there likely won’t be much evidence of growth and improvement.
“Sometimes, the message can be stale from the same person,” BMitch said. “Does it change up because Ron is now calling it? I don’t know. But ultimately, you’re not putting in a new damn defense. You’re basically going to be running the same kind of mindset, because let’s remember, the defensive-minded coach has been here for four years with the same guy. So, this is the defense we run.
“I don’t know if it drastically changes much, because most of the same people on the field are in place. Now, do you change the expectation of people? Do you hold them more accountable? Because right now, I don’t think the word ‘accountability’ floats around much in there.”
