Commanders to release center Tyler Biadasz

A surprise move by the Commanders Wednesday night: per Ian Rapoport, the team is releasing center Tyler Biadasz.

This season was scheduled to be the last of the three-year, $29.25 million deal Biadasz signed with the Commanders in 2024 after following Dan Quinn over from Dallas, and he was going to make $8.3 million in 2026 with a $1 million roster bonus due April 1.

But, with all of his guaranteed money paid out ($20.7 million was the total guarantee), Washington is releasing him and will save $2.885 million in cap space, adding to a total that was fifth-most in the NFL. They could save all $8.3 million of Biadasz’s salary if he is designated a post-June 1 cut – but they would be unable to use those savings until June 1, well after free agency and the Draft.

Biadasz, a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2020 and a Pro Bowler in 2022, played 31 of 34 games for the Commanders, but missed the final game of last season with lower leg injuries.

The release means the Commanders are currently down two-fifths of their nominal starting offensive line from 2025, as Chris Paul is a free agent, but the team recently re-signed Nick Allegretti, who
