Ben Standig tweeted this conundrum: of these Commanders free agents at these projected contracts, who would you most want to re-sign? The choices: Jacoby Brissett (one year, $9 million); Kam Curl (three years, about $32 million); Cornelius Lucas (two years, $10 million); and Curtis Samuel (two years, $17 million).
“Honestly, probably none of them,” was Danny Rouhier’s original idea, “but for the purposes of the exercise, I might go Lucas. I don’t feel great about the position, thy have a lot of work there, so you can do a lot worse as a swing tackle and safety net.”
GP agreed that tackle might be the worst spot on the roster as constructed outside of a DE room ‘full of backup types,’ but he’s still picking Brissett.
“If I’m drafting a kid, I love the idea of having him in the room,” Grant said. “Sam would probably be my two, but I’m three-deep at quarterback and he’s like an extra coach making a lot of money. I think he can play in a pinch, but he’s an awesome dude and a great teammate.”
