According to the NFL Analysis Network, the Commanders are shopping wide receiver Dyami Brown, who doesn’t appear to have much of a role with the team after appearing in 30 games and catching 17 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns since being drafted in 2021.

Regardless of the accuracy of the report, Grant and Danny debated whether it would be wise to shop the former third-round pick.

“I’m not sure how much desire there is gonna be for Dyami Brown, who hasn’t done much in the NFL, because there’s a pretty decent wide receiver market,” Grant said. “DeAndre Hopkins is available. We’ve seen Brandin Cooks moved. If you want Mike Evans, you can have him this offseason. There are veterans, guys who have had a lot of success, guys who can start for you on a championship level team, that are still available.

“I would hang on to Dyami Brown, I think. You just can’t bank on all three of your receivers staying healthy. [Curtis] Samuel missed all of his first entire season here. [Jahan] Dotson…had a stretch of six straight weeks where he couldn’t post. You’re talking about a position where you’re taking shots in the middle of the field, coming down awkwardly at times…you better have five or six guys you really like.”

Danny countered that Brown is expendable, and even if he brings back a lower pick than was used to acquire him, it can still be a positive given that the Commanders have already gotten something out of Brown.

“Someone could go, ‘You drafted him in the third round and all you’re getting back is a sixth rounder?’ You’re looking at it as a loss. It’s not a loss,” Danny said. “That’s a profit. You are getting something for a guy that may not have a big role.”

“I think it’s a loss because you drafted him in the third round thinking he was gonna be a good wide receiver…and you’re flipping him for almost nothing,” Grant countered. “So, from a football standpoint, it’s a loss, but It’s also a win if you compare it to his current role, which is a down-the-depth-chart wide receiver who is barely used.”
