In an all-time moment on Grant and Danny, new Commanders owner Josh Harris called into the show, while Grant and Danny were broadcasting live from Old Ox Brewery, and bought everyone in attendance a beer to celebrate the changing of the guard.
“Let’s go,” Harris said, as fans went nuts at the sound of his voice on the line. “I’m just leaving the league meeting, and I knew there was a party and a bunch of Washington fans there. I’m super pumped. It’s a great day for Washington football., and I’m ready to get to work. I’m heading your way. I want to get to Washington, my hometown, and celebrate with you guys. Let’s get started by me buying everyone in the brewery and The Bullpen a beer. Can we do that?”
After the crowd went nuts again, Grant cautioned that the brewery was packed, as was the Burgundy and Sold party at The Bullpen, so the tab would be a hefty one. Not quite the $6.05 billion tab to purchase the team, but hefty nonetheless.
Still, Harris made it happen.
“I’m gonna have to dip into my savings, but I want everyone to have a beer,” Harris said. “Let’s do it.
“Hail to the Commanders, and drink up!”
