EB is 'terrified' about Commanders-Cardinals: 'I already know it's not going to go well'

The NFL season is just eight days away, and the Commanders open up three days later at home against Arizona – a game Eric Bickel is already worried about.

“That game has now become terrifying, because everyone is saying you have to win,” EB said. “It was a game you should win, but now that they released Colt and are basically playing a bum, the pressure has become enormous.”

EB ‘knows how life works and it ain’t gonna work out,’ aka he’s afraid the Commanders will lose a game they absolutely shouldn’t – and even Valdez jumped in to note that a narrow win is going to be just as bad in the fans’ eyes.

“We’re not good enough to just win every game we’re supposed to win,” EB said. “I have no regard for the Cardinals, but I already know it’s not going to go well. We could just lay an egg.”

“I am a little snobby with style points when you’re facing a team that’s just a known bottom-feeder,” Cakes replied. “EB’s mantra every year is ‘they’re the Cardinals’ or whoever.’”

Bish did say that if EB’s fear comes true, it makes the next game at Denver even more pressure-packed, so how can the Commanders avoid that?

“The offense has to look good, and go out there and score 25 points,” Cakes said. “If you don’t score that against the dreadful Cardinals, I will

“The Cardinals aren’t going to drop back and throw 35 times with their quarterback situation; they’re going to run a lot, try to keep it low-scoring, and force turnovers,” Bish replied. “If you score in the 20s, you’re going to beat the Cardinals.”

JP thinks it will be a good evaluation tool at worst, but that’s when EB reiterated his worry, and Cakes tried to calm it one more time.

“I am optimistic about the team, but the setup for Week 1 is terrifying,” EB said. “Everyone assumes we’re going to win, and we’re not good enough to do that. We could be playing DeMatha, it wouldn’t matter.”

“Don’t be terrified of the Arizona Cardinals,” Cakes replied. “They’re an abject disaster.”
