Junkies react to Noah Brown signing: 'He's not a savior, but he's a piece'

The Commanders, after trading Jahan Dotson to the Eagles, added a new target for Jayden Daniels on Wednesday, signing wide receiver Noah Brown and adding him to the active roster with weeks to go until Week 1.

Brown, recently cut by the Texans, hauled in 33 passes for 567 yards last season, including two touchdowns, but also battled injuries in 2023. Those injuries continued into training camp, leading to Houston cutting ties.

Reacting to the move on Thursday morning on The Sports Junkies, JP wanted to remind fans that this likely isn’t a game-changing addition.

“He’s had moments...it’s not like they brought in Jon Taylor,” JP said. “They brought in a guy who was just released. He’s not a savior. He’s a piece though.

“I think it’s a helpful thing. I’m glad they did it...there are instances where guys are in the league and don’t really do much for 4-5 years, and then they start having an impact.”

Cakes believes Brown could be one of those late bloomers, and that doesn’t mean he will become a bonafide WR1, but he could become a quality target for the rookie Daniels.

“He’ll compete for the second or third wideout spot,” Cakes said.
