The Washington Football Team made its second big free agency splash in as many nights on Tuesday, signing former Bengals cornerback William Jackson III.
Jackson is signing a three-year, $42 million deal with Washington, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, and could be an ideal fit to replace Ronald Darby, who departed for Denver on a three-year, $30 million deal.
The 28-year-old corner recorded 45 total tackles, one interception,11 passes defensed and made one tackle for loss for the Bengals last season. Cincinnati selected Jackson 24th overall out of Houston in 2016.
Pro Football Focus ranks Jackson as the 16th-best free agent this offseason, giving him a PFF grade of 71.4, which ranks 19th among NFL corners in 2020.
Washington's first big move in free agency came Monday night, when the Football Team added veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick on a one-year deal.
