The Wizards fired long-time team president and GM Ernie Grunfeld on April 2. And 55 days later, Washington is still searching for his successor.
They reportedly made an offer to Nuggets president of basketball operations and former Wizards employee Tim Connelly, but
he decided to stay in Denver. Washington was supposedly interested in Blazers team president Neil Olshey, too, but on Friday he signed a contract extension with Portland.
Tommy Sheppard remains the interim GM and has interviewed for the permanent position, but if he was truly the Wizards' top choice he likely would have been hired by now. Thunder assistant GM Troy Weaver and Danny Ferry have also interviewed for the job, but it doesn't appear the Wizards have made either of them an offer yet.
It's possible the Wizards are waiting for a candidate from a team still in the playoffs
as NBC Sports Washington's Ben Standig has noted, such as Raptors team president Masai Ujiri or Warriors assistant GM Larry Harris. But all in all, there are rumors but no resolution as the Wizards' GM search approaches its eighth week.

Bradley Beal's future with the franchise and replenish a roster with only six players currently under contract for next season, including the injured
John Wall.
