
The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs played this afternoon as bad weather in the night time forecast forced the game time to be moved up to 2:20 PM. The Brewers would go on to beat the Cubs 6-5 in 10 innings.
Adrian Houser took the mound for the Crew and was in some trouble early. Houser surrendered three runs in the first two innings. He would settle down as the game continued, giving up no runs in his next three innings. Houser was pulled from the game after 5 innings. He would finish with a final line of: 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 Ks.
The Crew would tie the game in the top half of the 4th inning as Justin Smoak delivered on a 2 RBI double followed by a RBI single from Luis Urias.
The Brewers took the lead in the 6th after Ryan Braun scored on an error off the bat of Orlando Arcia.
The Cubs were able to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th inning on a solo homerun from Souza Jr. off of Brewers reliever Corey Knebel.
The game went into extras where Avisail Garcia drove in a run on a RBI double. They would get a much need insurance run off the bat of Luis Urias as he delivered an RBI single to give the Brewers a 2-run lead heading in to the bottom half.
Alex Claudio would give up one run in the bottom of the 10th but was able to get the final out to give the Brewers a 6-5 victory.
The two teams will be back at it tomorrow for the series finale. First Pitch at 1:20 PM.
