VCU improved to 12-5 on the season and 3-1 in Atlantic 10 conference play after a 78-64 victory at Loyola Chicago, the division's newest additions, on Tuesday (Jan. 10).

The Rams scored their first away win of the season, though only four such games have been played thanks to a long home stretch through December. VCU was boosted by six players scoring in double digits, led by Jalen DeLoach's 16 and Ace Baldwin's 13. DeLoach also led all Rams with seven rebounds.

Though VCU continued a trend of early scoring droughts, a couple of runs -- including a 24-4 annihilation early in the second half -- helped turn the tables on the Ramblers.

David Shriver, hot of late from beyond the arc, went 3-for-3 from that range, while the Black and Gold forced 22 turnovers from Loyola.

Next up for the Rams is a date with Dayton in Ohio, set for Friday (Jan. 13) at 9pm.
