Fortunately this is not a pandemic-related incident, but simply a weather delay causing the postponement of an indoor sporting event.

The Washington Wizards game against the Detroit Pistons that was scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed after travel issues halted the Pistons' flight back to Michigan, according to The Athletic's James L. Edwards III.

According to Edwards' report, following the Pistons' 111-105 loss to the Mavericks on Monday night, trouble with the team's plane and weather issues prevented them from flying back to Detroit. The team was still unable to take off late on Wednesday morning. And with a three-hour flight time and a time change from Texas to Michigan, the NBA decided to postpone the game.

The Pistons reportedly sat on the tarmac for hours before deplaning and remaining in the Dallas area.

No announcement has been made about when the game will be rescheduled.

The Wizards were already in Detroit after defeating the Spurs 127-106 on Monday night in San Antonio. Washington's next game will be Friday at home to the Portland Trail Blazers, before heading up to Brooklyn to face the Nets Saturday evening.

The Wizards are riding a six-game winning streak, with five of those wins coming on the road at the Knicks, Mavs, Rockets, Pelicans, and Spurs.
