Bills sign wide receiver Brandin Cooks to active roster

The 32-year-old joins the Bills after being released by the Saints

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have added a weapon to their wide receivers room, signing veteran Brandin Cooks to the 53-man roster.

Cooks was recently released by the New Orleans Saints in the middle of his second stint with the organization. Both parties agreed to part ways after Cooks struggled with just 165 receiving yards on 19 receptions.

The 32-year-old was originally drafted by the Saints as a first-round pick (20th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft. Cooks has since spent time with a handful of franchises, including the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys.

In 168 career games over 12 seasons, Cooks has reeled in 729 passes for 9,697 yards and 60 touchdowns. He has also registered six seasons of 1,000-plus yards receiving, but has not put up a year of, at least, 700 yards receiving since 2021.

The Bills now have a full 53-man roster, which includes eight wide receivers: Cooks, Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, Tyrell Shavers and Mecole Hardman Jr.
