Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - A pair of offensive leaders for the Buffalo Bills have been named to the NFL Pro Bowl once again.
As announced by the National Football League on Thursday, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and starting left tackle Dion Dawkins have been named to the roster for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Fla.
For Allen, this is the third time he has been named to the Pro Bowl, with his first two nods coming in 2020 and 2022.
Allen has, arguably, been the front-runner for NFL MVP honors this season in a year that many saw the Bills as a "re-tooling" team in 2024. The 28-year-old has been stellar under center, completing 63.6% of his passing attempts for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
The seventh-year starter for Buffalo has also added 531 yards on the ground this season on 102 carries and another 12 touchdowns. He also has a receiving touchdown to his name in a Sunday night matchup with the San Francisco 49ers back in Week 13.
His 40 total touchdowns in the 2024 season ranks Allen fourth in the league, while his 101.4 passer rating is seventh amongst qualifying quarterbacks.
Allen also became the first quarterback in NFL history to have five-straight seasons of, at least, 40 total touchdowns, and is the second quarterback in league history to reach 40 total touchdowns in a season, at least, five times.
Through his first seven seasons in the NFL, Allen has the most combined passing and rushing yards by a player in league history.
In addition, Allen helped lead the Bills to wins this season over the 15-1 Kansas City Chiefs and 14-2 Detroit Lions, making Buffalo the first team in NFL history to beat two 14-plus win teams in the same season.
As for Dawkins, this is the fourth time in his eight-year career he has been named to the Pro Bowl.
As part of one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, Dawkins has helped Allen flourish this season, limiting him to being sacked just 14 times, making it the least by any quarterback who has played in all 16 games in 2024.
The Bills' offensive line has also done a great job in the run game, helping block for James Cook, who leads the NFL with 15 rushing touchdowns this season.
Earlier this year, Dawkins was also named the Bills' representative for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, one of the league's most prestigious honors recognizing a player for his excellence on the field, and off it by making a significant positive impact on their community.
The Bills also had eight other players named as alternates for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games:
- First alternates: C - Connor McGovern, RB - James Cook
- Third alternate: S - Damar Hamlin
- Fourth alternate: LB - Terrel Bernard
- Fifth alternates: DT - Ed Oliver, FB - Reggie Gilliam, RT - Spencer Brown, TE - Dalton Kincaid
