As originally reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Bills have signed veteran tackle Germain Ifedi to their 53-man roster after hosting him to a free agent visit on Tuesday.
Ifedi recently spent time on the Detroit Lions roster after being signed as a free agent this past May. However, he was released from their roster on Sunday.
The 29-year-old is entering his eighth NFL season after being a former first-round pick (31st overall) of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Over the course of seven seasons with the Seahawks, Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons, Ifedi has dressed for 102 games, making 83 starts at both guard and tackle.
In his only season with the Falcons last year, Ifedi dressed for all 17 games, but only took a total of eight offensive snaps and 17% of special teams snaps.
In order to make space for Ifedi on the roster, along with the re-signing of long snapper Reid Ferguson, the Bills have placed linebacker Baylon Spector and wide receiver Justin Shorter on Injured Reserve.
