Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Ahead of Friday's NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m., the Buffalo Sabres have locked up one of their depth wingers before he was set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer.

As first reported by PuckPedia and TSN NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the Sabres have signed forward Jordan Greenway to a two-year contract extension worth $4 million a season.

The 28-year-old was first acquired by the Sabres just before the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline from the Minnesota Wild. In his 110 games in Buffalo, Greenway has scored 17 goals and added 23 assists for 40 points.

In his first full season with the Sabres this past year, Greenway scored 10 goals and put up 28 points in 67 games played.

Injuries have been a concern with Greenway over the duration of his NHL career, especially in his time with the Sabres. A "mid-body injury" earlier this season has limited Greenway to just 26 games, where he has three goals and eight points.
