Winnipeg, Manitoba (WGR 550) - 20 minutes was enough to sink the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Jets shot at a 60% clip in the second period, scoring on three of their five shots to defeat the Sabres, 3-2, at Canada Life Centre.

After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, the Jets got to Eric Comrie and the Sabres three times in the second period. A trio of forwards did the damage for Winnipeg: Cole Perfetti, Mason Appleton and Nikolaj Ehlers.

Sandwiched in-between the scoring onslaught by the Jets was a goal from Alex Tuch in his return to the lineup after a three-game absence. Tuch cleaned up a loose puck, which was generated by a shot from Jeff Skinner. The tally, at the time, helped the Sabres trim their deficit in half at 2-1.

The Sabres, down 3-1, wasted no time making it a one-goal game again in the third period. JJ Peterka snuck his seventh goal of the season in and under Connor Hellebuyck just 60 seconds into the period, as Rasmus Dahlin sprung the winger for a breakaway.

Unfortunately for Buffalo, its output ended there, as any equalizer eluded the blue and gold despite a strong push in the final minutes of play.
