(670 The Score) There was no shortage of legends on hand to get the Field of Dreams game started between the Cubs and the Reds on Thursday evening.
Hall of Fame slugger Ken Griffey Jr. and his father Ken Griffey Sr. – a three-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion with the Reds – were the first out of the cornfields in Dyersville, Iowa and had a catch. Soon after, Cubs and Reds players entered the diamond from the cornfield as well.
Cubs icons Fergie Jenkins, Billy Williams, Andre Dawson, Lee Smith and Ryne Sandberg took the field with the team as part of the opening ceremony. Jenkins then threw out the first to legendary Reds catcher Johnny Bench.
