The Men's Basketball team at one Upstate University has won its first postseason game, in the short history of the program. they'll now look to add another milestone win to their resume Friday night.
Division II Converse University in Spartanburg in just the program's second year of existence won a game in the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The Valkyries edged in-state foe Francis Marion 81-78 on Monday to advance to the tournament Quarterfinals.
The program is built on a mixture of homegrown talent and imported veterans. Leading the charge is Spartanburg High product Uzziah Dawkins. The Junior guard is averaging nearly 15 points per game. Bosnia Native and Grad Student Transfer Bosko Bojovic has bolstered their front court avergaing 14 points and nearly 10 boards per contest.
4th year Junior and Norwegian import Siguard Lorange adds nearly 11 points per. True Sophomore and former Dorman standout Earl Burgess III adds defensive versatility and is a glue guy in the Converse rotation.
The Valkyries will take on Barton College Friday night at Richardson Stadium on campus at Wofford College.
