The South Carolina Men's Basketball team was done in by one of its former members in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament.

Jermaine Cousinard who played at South Carolina for three seasons, now playing for Oregon led the Ducks with a game high 40 points. It's the most in an NCAA Tournament Game in over three decades.

The Gamecocks fell to 11 seed Oregon 87-73 Thursday in their 1st trip to the NCAA Tournament under second year Head Coach Lamont Paris. South Carolina was competitive early trailing just 34-29, at the half. However, they couldn't get defensive stops allowing 53 2nd half points to Oregon.

The Ducks shot 60% from the floor and 44% from three point range. South Carolina bows out of the tournament in it's 1st trip since their Final Four Run in 2017.
