(670 The Score) Cubs reliever Brandon Morrow's rehab from elbow surgery in the offseason continues to stall.
Morrow won't throw for at least two more weeks after recently receiving a right elbow injection, president of baseball operations Theo Epstein told reporters Tuesday. This news suggests he's not anywhere close to a return. Back in spring training, the Cubs acknowledged that Morrow would miss all of April but expressed some hope he could return in May. He was then shut down on April 20 after experiencing a setback with discomfort in a bullpen session.
Morrow, 34, missed the second half of 2018 with what the team at the time first called a bone bruise in his biceps. He ended up then undergoing elbow surgery in early November.
When healthy, Morrow was terrific for the Cubs, posting a 1.47 ERA and converting 22 of 24 save opportunities before being sidelined in mid-July.
